On a late spring day in June, heavy with dark clouds and showers, Maggie and Jesse tied the knot and celebrated at Portage Country Club in Akron. Unified by themes of lemon and lime, the green umbrellas made a perfect accessory to the persistent rain of the day.

Or something like that… I do know there was a giant, scary looking knife involved which was used to cut the cake, but not before it was balanced on Dave’s nose and tossed in the air along with a flask and some other unlikely object, all of which took place at the elegant College Club of Cleveland. Previous to all of that, though, the proverbial knot was tied at Notre Dame College (the one in South Euclid, not South Bend), where we got some kick-ass shots both inside and out. Purpleness reigned the day, btw, and one super awesome dress created by the very talented Alison Garrigan.

At any rate, Gina radiated, her dad sang, and a good time was had by all.

As is the nature of the medium, your photographs record those moments, and freeze that gesture, that look, the day, for you and your family to remember them by. A lot goes into your wedding; the planning, the guests, the right location and the right flowers, the dresses and the centerpieces, the food and the music, and of course most of all your commitment to each other. Hey, it’s that time of year–you know, something about hearts, chocolate, flowers, and rings? Which means it’s time for the annual Valentine’s Day Engagement Session Sale! If you book any level of wedding coverage between now and February 28th, I’ll include a complementary engagement session in the deal*. Engagement sessions are a great opportunity for couples to get in front of the camera and get to know your photographer before the wedding, and the images can be used for save-the-date cards and guest books or photos for signing.

*Based on availability of your date; booking requires a signed contract and retainer. Engagement sessions are shot either in studio or within the greater Clevleland area, and must be completed no less than six weeks before the wedding date. Images are posted online for purchase; prints, guest-books, and other products are extra. Engagement sessions can be booked without a wedding package, call or email for more details.

While it may be a cliché in some circles, it stands to say it again: After the flowers are land-filled and the dinners are scraped away, after the centerpieces are dismantled and the bridesmaid dresses are tucked (very, very deeply) into closets, after all of the favors and chair covers and the rest of it are tossed or returned, the memories of your wedding day and your killer party will be preserved in the photography. Just a thought…
